We are thrilled to announce that filmmaker Ben Strebel’s latest short, Acts of Kindness, will make its premiere at the Aesthetically Short Film Festival 2025 this November.
Written by Cordelia Lynn and directed by Strebel, the film is produced by Biscuit Filmworks in association with Vixen, Hamlet, Zauberberg, and us – Pumpkin Film.
At its core, Acts of Kindness explores the unraveling of a clandestine relationship between a student and her tutor. As they confront the end of their affair, long-buried emotional wounds surface. The encounter soon transcends the ordinary: reality begins to fracture, new worlds and characters appear, and the boundaries between what is real and imagined blur in haunting and unexpected ways.
The project showcases Strebel’s distinctive cinematic voice, blending psychological depth with visual experimentation to create a striking meditation on love, loss, and the fragility of human connection.
We couldn’t be prouder to celebrate this milestone. Congratulations, Ben!
