Axel Laubscher’s journey spans four continents and encompasses a wealth of cultural experiences, reflected in his multilingual background and international outlook. Born in Germany, Axel’s odyssey has taken him from India to Colombia, back to Germany, and onward to New York before settling in Stockholm, Sweden. His truly global perspective infuses his work with a rich tapestry of influences and inspirations.
Axel’s directorial prowess was honed in the bustling metropolis of New York City, where he graduated from the prestigious NYU Tisch School of the Arts. Co-founding the Swedish production company Social Club, Axel has cultivated a reputation for excellence, earning numerous awards in both international and national advertising competitions.
A hallmark of Axel’s directorial style is his ability to connect with actors and craft simple yet captivating narratives infused with humour. His extensive directing experience has equipped him with a diverse range of techniques and skills, evident in the breadth and depth of his body of work.
Recognition for Axel’s contributions to the advertising industry includes prestigious accolades such as gold, silver, and bronze Lions at Cannes and other renowned ad festivals. Notable achievements include a bronze Lion at Cannes for his work on Santec, a 47-second ad filmed in one seamless take.
Among Axel’s impressive portfolio are collaborations with esteemed brands such as Coke, Mercedes, McDonald’s, PSP, Lotto, Bosch, Seat, Skoda, Ikea, VW, and HSBC, each showcasing his innate talent for storytelling and visual innovation.
